as far as gaming on touchscreen devices is concerned, it will never be as intuitive as hard buttons of actual physical game controller, well, at least not all the games are. then again, if you were to add a physical game controller to say, your smartphone, the portability that we yearned for would be sacrificed. luckily for those who wants to maintain the portability of their smartphone while still have the benefit of buttons, there is the iMpulse Game and Music Controller. this really tiny Bluetooth controller is touted as the world’s smallest gaming and music controller, measuring just 2.7″ short x 1.3″ wide x 0.6″ thin (about 6.9 cm x 3.3 cm x 1.5 cm).

despite it its miniature proportion, it is as capable as any full-size controller with a 6-button layout: four on the front and two on the back, plus a direction pad (D-pad), and it has a built-in rechargeable lithium polymer battery for up to nine hours of continuous usage. the real kicker here is, it can also function as a music controller and when you are done with it, just attach it to your keychain to keep it close to you. it even comes with a protective cover to keep the buttons shielded when not in use. subtle, but a nice touch nonetheless. the only thing is, you will have to find a stand or something to propped up or hold the phone while your giant hands work on the tiny game and music controller.

it works on both iOS and Android devices, plus it has an incredible 100 feet range, so it will be perfect for mirroring your game to your big screen HDTV for some serious gaming. additionally, a free app is available to pair this otherwise easy to lose accessory to your smartphone, allowing it to chirp when you go out of range and it can also doubles as a camera remote. with so many features packed into such a small accessory, you’d be way too picky to think that its price tag of $39.99 is too pricey. no?
