Whether you are wearing on your forehead, hat, or mounting it on a drone, you will want an action camera to small and super light without sacrificing performance. And tiny, super lightweight and performance are what the new Insta360 GO 2 is about.
That’s right. The impossibly small 20g action camera we saw in 2019 has a follow up and it too, is ridiculously tiny. While the Insta360 GO 2 may be a tad heavier than its predecessor at 27g, it is still super duper tiny, about the size of a grown person’s thumb.
It may be super small, this action cam packs quite a punch with its 1/2.3-inch sensor that is capable of recording up to 1440p at 50fps and it will let you do so for up to 150 minutes when used with the supplied TWS earbuds-like charging case.
Speaking of the charge case, it not only charges and stores the Insta360 GO 2 when not in use; it is a remote controller and a tripod too. The idea of integrating a controller and a tripod into a charging case is actually quite ingenious.
Other highlights include Insta360’s 6-axis stabilization (FlowState Stabilization), Horizon Lock function, 15-minute clip length (or 30 minutes for FPV), waterproof to 4 meters (13 feet), rugged construction with replaceable lens guard, WiFi preview, remote control, hyperlapse and in-built auto editing.
The Insta360 GO 2, of course, inherits the Insta360 GO’s versatility in mounting. Small, a myriad of mounting options, and awesome imaging capability. I guess it really could give GoPro a run for their money. But small and powerful does not mean it is small in price; in fact, it is more expensive than last year’s, at US$299.99.
