The G-Shock GSW-H1000 G-Squad Pro is the first G-Shock smartwatch to be powered by Google’s smartwatch OS.

In addition to its usual toughness and shock resistance, along with water resistance to 200 meters (660 feet), the smart, super tough timepiece also touts an optical sensor for heart rate monitoring, compass, altitude/air pressure sensor, accelerometer, gyrometer, GPS and more.

With the G-Shock GSW-H1000 G-Squad Pro, you can record the data like distance, speed and pace et cetera for sporting activities like running, indoor workouts, cycling, swimming, surfing, snowboarding and even fishing (believe it!).

The watch further features a dual-layer monochrome and color display with a user-customizable three-tier layout interface. Like the G-Squad we saw last year, the G-Shock GSW-H1000 G-Squad Pro is essentially the tough G-Shock you love, but with smartwatch functionality and this time, powered by the goodness of Wear OS.

The news came out on the April 1st out of Japan, but thankfully, this ain’t no April’s Fool day prank.
