KFC China is really out to capture the hearts of kidults in China. I detect that this is a carefully strategized move. It started with the much younger kidults with Pokémon and Genshin Impact collabs, then shifted to the slightly older demographic with Gundam, and now? It’s gunning for the more mature audience with a collab with ROG. But no, you are not getting a gaming mini PC or any ROG components with a specially crafted meal. However, there was a draw in which patrons had a shot at winning ROG gaming rigs, gaming peripherals, and ROG handheld consoles.
Anyhoo, the special meal features a Wagyu beef-based burger with three flavors to choose from. There’s the traditional American-style burger, cheese-flavored, and—believe it or not—durian-flavored (ewwww…). The meal, which was available for a very limited time between June 28 and June 30, includes a choice of the aforementioned burger and a soda and comes with a set of KFC-themed ROG keycaps.
There are 6 keycaps altogether: a KFC branding key, a set of “K,” “F,” and “C” themed keycaps in red with the iconic KFC red and white stripes, an ROG logo keycap, and a double-width keycap printed with “CAPS” and Chinese words that translate to “lock on | wagyu.” The keycaps are presented in a display case adorned with a faux right-angle key that says KFC | ROG.
Unfortunately, it’s a China-only thing. But you’ll probably be able to find them being sold on Chinese e-commerce sites like Taobao.com, marketplaces like Xianyu, or even eBay.
