Lamborghini Revuelto V12 Hybrid HPEV Supercar

Lamborghini is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year and as part of the celebration, the raging bull marque has revealed the Lamborghini Revuelto, the first super sports V12 hybrid HPEV which is billed as the new paradigm for super sports cars. Wait. HPEV and not PHEV as in plug-in hybrid electric vehicle? Well, no. The HPEV here stands for High-Performance Electrified Vehicle.

The new Lamborghini Revuelto is powered by a naturally-aspirated V12 engine, supplemented by three electric motors to achieve a total output of 1,015 cv (1,001 HP). The ICE alone produces an impressive, supercar-worthy 825 cv (813 HP) and turns out 725 Nm (535 lb-ft) of torque at 6750 RPM.

The engine is mated to an eight-speed, double-clutch transverse gearbox and offers 13 drive modes. Its all-wheel drive is also available in fully-electric mode.

“The powertrain combines high specific power elements: the new 128 CV/liter combustion engine works synergically with two front axial flux motors that deliver an outstanding weight-to-power ratio, with a radial flux electric motor positioned above the first eight-speed double-clutch gearbox debuting on a 12-cylinder Lamborghini. The three electric motors are powered by a lithium-ion high specific power (4500 W/kg) battery pack that also supports a fully-electric drive mode.”

The Lamborghini Revuelto is a milestone for Lamborghini. And befitting a Lamborghini, it is crazy quick and super fast too. The Revuelto makes 0-100 km/h (62 mph) in mere 2.5 seconds and 0-200 km/h (124 mph) only takes 7 seconds, and it has a top speed of 350 km/h (218 mph).

With the new Lamborghini Revuelto, the Italian supercar maker also ushers in a new design language while staying constant to the exclusive Lamborghini design DNA.

A few other noteworthy spec-sheet details include a multi-technology carbon fiber monocoque, forged composites front structure, carbon fiber body, aluminum doors, thermoplastic front and rear bumpers, active rear wing with 3 positions based on driving modes, Lamborghini MagneRide suspension technology, Carbon Ceramic Brakes Plus brakes, ESC with ABS and TCS, and electric power steering – just to name a few.

It is not clear when the newly revealed Lamborghini Revuelto V12 Hybrid HPEV Supercar will be available and for how much. Meanwhile, you may learn more HERE.
