We told you about the listing of the LEGO 71387 Luigi Starter Course a few days ago and today, we get official words for the set for the U.S. market. Like the Mario version, LEGO 71387 Adventures with Luigi Starter Course features interactive Luigi figure – which is one LEGO plate taller than LEGO Mario, btw, as he should.
Luigi, like his bro, comes outfitted with a color sensor, LCD screen to display many different reactions to movement, and a speaker that plays iconic sounds and music from the Super Mario video game series.
As with the Mario Starter Course, LEGO 71387 Adventures with Luigi Starter Course is an additional entry point to the world of LEGO Super Mario and it can, naturally, combined with all Mario sets, including Starter Course, Expansion Sets, collectible Character Packs and Power-Up Packs.
The game play is pretty much the same. You can expand, rebuild, customize and create your own challenges. In the game, LEGO Luigi can earn digital coins by competing a spinning see-saw challenge, interacting with Pink Yoshi and defeating Boom Boom and a Bone Goomba.
Additional features include brown-colored bricks signifying the Tower biome that will trigger a new sound from LEGO Luigi and a ? Block designed to offer “exciting rewards.”
All told, the LEGO 71387 Adventures with Luigi Starter Course contains 280-piece and it will work with the free LEGO Super Mario app for keeping track of scores, access to building instructions, and whatnot.
The LEGO 71387 Adventures with Luigi Starter Course is available for pre-order today for US$59.99. It will go on sale worldwide starting from August 01, 2021 (earlier on July 10 in Japan).
