It does not matter whether or not you have heard it was coming when the UCS-style LEGO Imperial Probe Droid was announced because, LEGO 75308 Star Wars R2-D2 is coming.
The most loved droid in the galaxy far, far away finally gets it much deserved “UCS” treatment – in time to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Lucasfilm.
LEGO 75308 Star Wars R2-D2 may not be a life size LEGO R2-D2 model – it measures over 12.5 inches (31 cm) tall, 7.5 inches (20 cm) wide and 6 inches (15 cm) deep – but its 2,314 pieces are enough bring out details like we have never seen before in an official set.
Details like unique retractable mid-leg, rotating head and a periscope. The model further boasts hidden tools tucked away, including a Luke Skywalker lightsaber hilt hidden in a secret compartment in the head.
And because it is a Lucasfilm 50th anniversary LEGO set, it will come with an exclusive minifigure version of the iconic droid and a special Lucasfilm 50th anniversary LEGO brick.
Last but not least, it comes with a buildable display stand, featuring an information plague, which has a space for the aforementioned special brick and the R2-D2 minifigure.
The LEGO 75308 Star Wars R2-D2 is set to drop on May 1 – also in time for Star Wars Day – for a grand price of US$199.99.
