To celebrate the release of the LEGO McLaren MP4/4, LEGO Ideas is calling out to LEGO enthusiasts all over the world to a challenge: create builds that celebrate the success of Senna in the McLaren MP4/4. The conditions are simple: the build must include the MP4/4 and Ayrton Senna. No other IP references are allowed and only generic minifigures and cars can be used. The deadline to submit your entry for the MP4/4 and Senna challenge is April 23, 2024, at 6 AM EST.
There will be one Grand Prize winner and two Runner-Up winners which will be announced no later than May 14, 2024. The Grand Prize Winner of this challenge will receive a set of 10330 McLaren MP4/4, a set of 10326 Natural History Museum, a set of 10320 Eldorado Port, a set of 76919 2023 McLaren Formula 1 Car, a set of 42169 NEOM McLaren Formula E Racing Car, and a prize package of McLaren goodies.
The two runner-ups will win a 10330 McLaren MP4/4 set, a 42141 McLaren Formula 1 Racing Car set, and a 76919 2023 McLaren Formula 1 Car set. You may check out the rules and entries HERE.
The challenge has drawn over 40 entries so far and among them, there is one particular entry that caught my eye most. It is an Ayrton Senna Bust with Tiny McLaren MP4/4 by Rokan Cheung. The bust features the F1 legend in his racing suit and his right hand out holding a miniature McLaren MP4/4. Finishing touches include a tiny trophy on his left shoulder and a stand in colors that echos Senna’s signature helmet. Absolutely, gorgeous.
