If you missed the first wave of threezero’s ROBO-DOU Mobile Police Patlabor figures, we have good news for you. threezero has announced the reissue of all three figures from its Patlabor line: ROBO-DOU Ingram Unit 1, ROBO-DOU Ingram Unit 2 + Unit 3 Compatible Set, and ROBO-DOU Griffon.
For those unfamiliar, these are 1/35 scale fully articulated figures with almost 50 points of articulation (Griffon boasts around 60!) and feature zinc alloy die-cast parts, highly detailed sculpts, and fabric joint covers. The figures offer high playability with several LED light-up features.
Although threezero sometimes reissues its figures, this particular reissue may serve to promote the upcoming Mobile Police Patlabor ROBO-DOU Type 99 Special Labor Carrier and the ROBO-DOU Type 98 Special Command Vehicle.
At Mecha Festival 2024 in Hong Kong earlier this month, threezero showcased these two vehicles. The Type 99 Special Labor Carrier includes a remote for driving and controlling its light-up features, as well as raising and lowering the mecha bed. The model displayed at the show was a prototype and is still in development.
There was no introduction for the ROBO-DOU Type 98 Special Command Vehicle but we do note there was an additional remote on the demo table. This could mean that the Type 98 is an RC vehicle too.
For avid Patlabor fans, the Mobile Police Patlabor ROBO-DOU Type 99 Special Labor Carrier, along with the ROBO-DOU Type 98 Special Command Vehicle, should provide ample incentive to delve into threezero’s offerings, if you haven’t already. This is where the reissues come into play.
Returning to the reissues, the Mobile Police Patlabor ROBO-DOU Ingram Unit 1 and the Mobile Police Patlabor ROBO-DOU Ingram Unit 2 + Unit 3 Compatible Set are now available for pre-order at US$125 each, with delivery expected in Q3 2024. If you want all three units, i.e., Unit 1, 2, and 3, you will need to purchase an additional Unit 2 + 3 figure. Meanwhile, the Griffon is priced at US$149 and is also up for pre-order with delivery slated for Q3 2024.
