LEGO Book Nook Sets Announced

LEGO has built castles, spaceships, typewriters, and even bonsai trees. But until now, one sacred spot remained untouched: the humble book nook. That sliver of shelf space between novels has finally gotten the LEGO treatment—with not one, not two, but three brand-new book nook sets. Clearly, someone at LEGO headquarters had a “wait a minute…” moment and decided to go all in. It sure looks like the Danish toymaker is making up for lost time.

The lineup kicks off with a classic mystery—LEGO Icons Sherlock Holmes: Book Nook (10351). This 1,359-piece Victorian delight recreates Baker Street in delightful detail, from the rotating bookstore display to a sliding front door and Holmes’ cozy flat complete with a clue board and violin.

The set comes with five minifigures, including Sherlock, Watson, Irene Adler, Professor Moriarty, and newcomer Paige. Displayed open, it measures 21 cm high, 37 cm wide, and 6 cm deep (8 in. x 14.5 in. x 2.5 in.), and it’ll make your bookshelf look like it’s hiding clues of its own. US$129.99, coming June 1, 2025.

Next up: LEGO Icons The Lord of the Rings: Balrog Book Nook (10367), the only book nook that comes with a health warning—may cause uncontrollable quoting of Gandalf. This 1,201-piece set drops you right into the fire-lit standoff at the Bridge of Khazad-dûm, complete with a detachable Gandalf minifig and a posable Balrog figure wielding a flaming whip.

A plaque bearing You Shall Not Pass seals the drama. Fully opened, the model stands 22 cm high, 44 cm wide, and 17 cm deep (8.5 in. x 17.5 in. x 6.5 in.). US$129.99, shipping June 1, 2025.

And for the younger readers (or the inner kid in all of us), there’s LEGO Harry Potter Book Nook: Hogwarts Express (76450). This 832-piece set is all aboard for King’s Cross, complete with Harry, Ron, Hedwig, and Scabbers. It features a locomotive and carriage with a mirror trick to make the train look longer than your to-be-read list.

Displayed open, it measures 17 cm high, 38 cm wide, and 7 cm deep (6.5 in. x 15 in. x 2.5 in.). Oh, did we mention that this set also works as bookends as well? Now, that’s seriously cool. US$99.99, available June 1, 2025.

Book nooks are no longer just for tiny dioramas and Etsy crafters. LEGO just gave your bookshelf its own cinematic universe, and boy, are they looking fantastic. Here’s hoping to see more book nooks, and of course, bookends!
