We are wary of the news that came out on any April 1st of any year. This year is no exception. In fact, we even contemplating not to post anything on this day for fear that our naivety gets the better of us. So far, we are safe. Phew!. And then we came across a tweet by LEGO on a “revolutionary” app called Find My Brick and we totally lose it because, we want it to be real.
Find My Brick is supposedly an app that leverages on your phone’s camera to find the color of the brick you want simply by choosing the color and pointing your device at the pile of LEGO bricks you have in front of you and voila! the chosen color of the brick will be highlighted on the display – in real time. At the time of this writing, the tweet has been retweeted 1,298 times and garnered more than 5,300 likes, and from what we read, the ‘likes’ are most likely genuine.
That is one innovation which many LEGO enthusiasts would love to have with many Twitter users commented that this shouldn’t be an April Fool’s Day joke and that LEGO should come with the app already. There was even an AR engineer who came forward to help build the app. Well, LEGO, the technology is there and so, seriously, why not make it happen already?
