The notion of a flying vehicle with flapping wings like a dragonfly is super cool. Anyhoo, so yes, LEGO has revealed its first-ever build experience from the Dune universe, specifically the Ornithopter as seen in Denis Villeneuve’s film adaptation of Frank Herbert’s novel of the same name.
The LEGO Icons Dune Atreides Royal Ornithopter (10327) immortalized one of the most iconic aircraft from the Spice-filled sci-fi film in LEGO brick form.
It packs 1,369 pieces to let you realize a brick-built version of the dragonfly-inspired aircraft with features like functional blades that can flap and retract with a 180-degree rotation, foldable landing gear, and an opening cockpit.
For minifigures enthusiasts, this set is an absolute treat. It contains minifigures of 8 iconic characters from the movie, namely, Paul Atreides, Lady Jessica, Gurney Halleck, Chani, Leto Atreides, Liet Kynes, Duncan Idaho, and Baron Harkonnen in his ridiculously long robe.
When completed, the model with wings folded out measures over 9 in. (23 cm) high, 22 in. (57 cm) long and 31 in. (79 cm) wide.
