This year, LEGO Star Wars is celebrating a whopping 25 years of cosmic collaboration with Lucasfilm. To mark this silver anniversary, the LEGO Group has unveiled a series of interstellar treats and events, starting with their reveal at Germany’s Spielwarenmesse, aka Nuremberg Toy Fair (Jan 30-Feb 04, 204).
Fans, get ready to pre-order some stellar new anniversary products, including a fresh Starship Collection with builds inspired by the Millennium Falcon and the Invisible Hand, and two Tantive IV sets. There’s also a 25th-anniversary edition set dedicated to everyone’s favorite droid, R2-D2, complete with unique minifigures and commemorative tiles.
At the fair, there’s an eye-catching new 25th-anniversary LEGO Star Wars logo starring a LEGO version of R2-D2. Plus, a life-size R2-D2 LEGO build made from 27,797 bricks is set to tour Europe and the U.S. throughout 2024.
Starting March 1st, fans can unleash their creative side in the LEGO Star Wars 25-Second Film Festival. Here, they can submit 25-second films recreating or inventing their favorite Star Wars moments using their beloved LEGO Star Wars sets and minifigures.
To top it off, there’s an updated edition of DK’s LEGO Star Wars Visual Dictionary on its way, complete with an exclusive new minifigure, up for grabs in April 2024.
With more surprises throughout the year, the LEGO Group is set to join forces with their fan community, celebrating the creativity and passion that LEGO Star Wars ignites.
