The best way to protect your beloved camera when not in use is a camera bag. But Leica seems to think there is another way. A way that I could only imagine as an ancient way: by wrapping up it with a cloth.
Not just any old cloth, though; the Leica Wrapping Cloth, which is presented in collaboration with Leica’s traditional leathercraft partner, is a multifunctional 45 x 45 cm (17.7 by 17.7 inches) crafted from soft Italian hair sheep napa leather.
So, no, it is not quite a cloth per se. It is a piece of leather with an elastic band in one corner which is reinforced with stitched leather and decorated with the Leica logo.
Not being a camera case has its boon. It means it is not limited to wrapping up Leica M, Q, or other compact cameras. It can be used to wrap up compact binoculars as well as other valuables protecting them while in transit and with style.
Also revealed is the Leica Visoflex 2 Case. Also crafted from leather, the Visoflex 2 case features a magnetic lock and padded interior and is designed to protect the viewfinder.
For those who are in the market for a camera, you may want to check out the Leica Q2 Traveller Kit. From now till December 31, 2022, Leica Camera AG is offering the Leica Q2 Traveller Kit which includes the one-of-a-kind Leica Q2 camera, an additional battery, and Leica’s new wrapping cloth.
