Lenovo ThinkBook “codename Flip” AI PC Concept

The solar laptop is cool, but let’s be honest—a laptop with a folding display is way flashier. Lenovo hasn’t given up on the idea, and at MWC 2025, it showed off the ThinkBook “Codename Flip” AI PC Concept. This isn’t Lenovo’s first rodeo with foldables (it had a concept back in 2020), nor is it the first folding laptop ever (ASUS launched one in 2022). But what makes this one stand out? It’s a full-fledged AI PC, something that wasn’t even a thing a few years ago.

More Than Just a Foldable Screen

The ThinkBook Flip packs an 18.1-inch OLED display that folds outward, letting users shift between five modes:

  • Clamshell Mode – Standard laptop setup.
  • Vertical Mode – Taller workspace for documents.
  • Share Mode – Dual-screen for collaboration.
  • Tablet Mode – Ideal for sketching or touch-heavy tasks.
  • Read Mode – A distraction-free e-reading experience.

AI steps in with Workspace Split Screen, allowing multiple apps to run side by side—no external monitor needed.

Under the Hood

Powering this futuristic setup is an Intel Core Ultra 7 processor, backed by 32GB of LPDDR5X RAM and PCIe SSD storage. The Smart ForcePad introduces a 3-layer illuminated dashboard, adding numeric keys and media controls on demand. Connectivity is fast with Thunderbolt 4 ports, and security is covered with a fingerprint reader.

Lenovo is proving that AI PCs can be both powerful and flexible. If AI is the future, why not have it in a laptop that literally bends to your needs? See what I did there? Anyhoo, there are no hints if this will see the light of production but I bet it will. It definitely beats the idea of a laptop with built-in additional screens.
