The South Korean electronics giant will be introducing LG ‘Specialist’ X Series Smartphones that, instead of a one-size-fits-all approach, will offers you “one exceptional feature at a price that rivals mid-range smartphones.” Two models will be unveiled at the Mobile World Congress, dubbed X cam and X screen, on February 22, 2016. Don’t expect them to be a high-end handsets with mid-range price tags though. LG explains that X series is geared towards users who does not need all the “bells and whistles” that comes with high-end phones, but still want a great camera or advanced display, hence, X cam and X screen.

The second display offers access to frequently used apps, take calls, or playback music without interrupting current activity. Users can also check time, date, battery status and other notifications via the 1.76-inch display without waking up the device. Other details of the X screen includes 1.2GHz quadcore processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB onboard storage, a 13MP rear camera and a 8MP front camera, LTE radios, and a tad smaller capacity battery rated at 2,300 mAh.

Strange how the X screen, which has two display is given a smaller capacity battery, though it is understandable that it is a smaller device. Anywho, LG X screen is promised to bear “a stylish, sleek look with crystal-clear glass fiber exterior and clean lines.” LG X series will roll into Asia, Europe, as well as Latin America starting next month. No word for North America markets though.
