You think Liquid Death’s pit diaper for those who want to drink and piss in the same place, and a casket cooler, are the peak of shock products? Well, they were. That’s until they were outshocked by the company’s own Bluetooth speaker burial urn.

Yes. You heard that right. An urn that also plays music. Yup. And you probably thought sending the ashes of the dead into space was outrageous, but it got outdone by a music-playing urn. Like, who would have thought this could be a thing?
Developed in collaboration with music streaming service Spotify, the Liquid Death x Spotify Eternal Playlist Urn features a built-in Bluetooth speaker that plays music directly from a connected phone, just like any Bluetooth speaker.
The urn itself is, well, a traditional urn in a Zen-vibe white finish. The lid is where the music action happens. It houses the electronics, including the speaker. Yes, the speaker is pumping tunes into the urn where the deceased rests, so the dearly departed can listen to their favorite music for all eternity.
Well, eternity if there is someone around to recharge it when the battery runs out.

The design is as minimalist as it gets. The lid features an LED indicator that doubles as a power button, along with a USB-C port for charging. There are no onboard controls. Everything is handled through the paired device.
The urn is made from polyester resin. I am skeptical whether it really functions as a proper urn, though. But what the hell, you can choose to place the ashes of your loved one wherever you want, so why not here, right?
Spec sheet details, which is a strange thing to say for an urn, include Bluetooth 5.2, a 700 mAh battery, 20 meters (66 feet) of range, and a 1.89-inch (48 mm) driver delivering 3 W of audio output. The Bluetooth speaker is IP67 rated, though it is unlikely to be anywhere near water. But hey, we never know.
Like other quirky Liquid Death products, this one comes in a limited run. In this case, there were just 150 units to go around. Unfortunately, they are all spoken for.
The Liquid Death x Spotify Eternal Playlist Urn had a list price of US$495, by the way.
