I am pretty sure no employee will feel that he or she is missing the physical presence in the office, especially when it comes to meetings. But never mind what we think because there is a new conference camera that will make remote attendees feel like they’re actually seated at the table.
Folks, this is the Logitech Sight, an AI-powered meeting room camera that will do just that. It is a tabletop companion camera with intelligent multi-participant framing, offering remote attendees the best front-and-center view of the room, from anywhere. Well, that sure feels like what bosses would want.
Anyhoo, Sight uses video and AI to detect and accurately frame participants with a 315° field of view, so no one will be left out. Sight also uses sound to detect active speakers and capture audio at the table, up to 7.5 feet (2.3 meters) away.
Future software updates will also introduce a feature called Smart Switching which adaptive intelligence chooses the best view between the camera on the table and the camera at the front of the room, tracking conversations as they move between attendees.
Sight is designed for medium to large collaboration spaces and different table shapes and sizes. It can work with a front-of-room camera to extend its capabilities, like picking up conversations and nonverbals around the room.
Logitech Sight is armed with no less than 6 beamforming mics and two 4K cameras and has privacy features like LED indicators, privacy shade, as well as mic mute controls. It also boasts the flexibility to be integrated with leading video conferencing platforms, including Microsoft Teams, ZOOM, and Google Workspace.
The Logitech Sight Tabletop Conference Camera is available for pre-order for US$1,999.
