When it comes to cordless vacuum cleaner, we can all agree that no one does it better than Dyson in both looks and performance. But damn, the prices are absolutely mental. And if you really have to have one cord-free Dyson vacuum, you just got to bite the bullet and shell out the money. Well, that’s until now. Two former Dyson engineers think they can do it better and at a cost that does not demand you to sell your soul. Folks, meet Lupe Cordless Vacuum Cleaner.
Created former Dyson R&D engineers, Lucas Horne and Pablo Montero, Lupe Cordless Vacuum Cleaner sells itself as a cordless vacuum with pretty insane suction power, thanks to the Japanese brushless motor that spins at over 100,000 rpm and the company;s patented Suction Intensifier technology that boasts 2x the suction power over market leading cordless vacuum.
It further features a 2-stage cyclonic separation, a 2m (6.6′) long reach, a repairable design, one liter holding capacity, , a 2-stage washable lifetime filters, universal cleaning head for all kind of floors, onboard attachment storage, and a charge anywhere, removable 32.4V 81 Wh li-ion battery that provides 60 minute of use in between charges – all packaged in a lightweight 4.2 kg (9.3 lbs) design that looks strangely reminiscent that of a vintage Hoover vacuum cleaner.
Not going to lie. The looks of Lupe Cordless Vacuum Cleaner is not for everyone, or least that’s what I thought when I first saw it, but boy, I must say, it kind of grows on me now. I think the biggest boon with this new kid in the cordless vacuum block are the onboard tool storage and the removable battery which you will be able to replace when “future battery advances” is available. I can only imagine James Dyson must be fuming mad right now. Like, you know, former employees created a cordless vacuum that claims to be as good if not better and gunning for the same pie?
Now, remember we mention about the crazy price of the reigning kind of cordless vacuum? Well, we haven’t been completely honest. The Lupe Cordless Vacuum Cleaner is not any cheaper, BUT it is holy shit cheap right now if you pre-order it on Kickstarter. We talking about £290 (about US$370) kind of cheap here, btw. That’s like almost half of Dyson’s latest cord-free vacuum.
As you may have already guessed, Lupe Cordless Vacuum Cleaner is already funded. In fact, it is 642 percent funded at the time of this writing. So, yeah, it is a pre-order which, if all go as planned, should see shipping sometime in December 2019. Skip ahead the product pitch video to learn more.
