In Grand Theft Auto V (GTA V), you get to see a shark which you can choose to get kill by it or kill it, but really that’s all you can do. If you have been thinking, “what if the shark is a playable character in the game? If that have been on your mind, well, we have news for you. Your wish is coming true! Folks, meet Maneater, a GTA style of video game where you are the shark.
Maneater ain’t no joke, btw. We shouldn’t be surprise it is a real game, or at least, going to be a real game. I mean, seriously, we already have games where we play as a goat, why not a shark? But do not mistake this as a Goat Simulator style game. Maneater is more sophisticated than that. The graphics for one is pretty insane. Anyways, unlike GTA, petty crimes are non existence.
Maneater is all about full on carnage and by carnage we mean more than just snacking on fellow marine creatures; it is about chomping down humans for food and I highly suspect, for sport too. You will get to attack swimmers, boaters, and even sunbathers. Be warned, though. Your insatiable appetite for blood is not without dire repercussion. Like GTA, there is a wanted system. The more you blatantly kill, the wanted level will intensifying and when that happens, shark hunters will be on your tail.
Here’s the official description:
“Experience the ultimate power fantasy as the apex predator of the seas – a giant Shark! Terrorize the coastal waterways. Tear swimmers and divers limb from limb, give the humans a reason to fear you! Maneater is a Single-Player Action RPG, set in the Gulf Coast’s unforgiving waters. Fight to survive in the open ocean, swamps and rivers with danger lurking at every depth. Your only tools are your wits, your jaws, and an uncanny ability to evolve as you feed. Eat. Explore. Evolve!”
Also, humans are not your enemies. Along the way as you grown from baby shark to a grown adult to a senior and finally, to a mega, you will have to deal with other apex predators like a giant crocodile and a huge-ass sperm whale. Well, that sounds like a lot of fun.
Maneater single-player action RPG is expected to hit the market next year, sometime before E3 2020. In the meantime, you can quell your Shark-petite with the official Maneater E3 2019 trailer and an exclusive E3 2019 gameplay by YouTuber MathChief after the break.
