If you haven’t already heard, Maserati has a new electric ride. Launched at the “Made in Thunder” event in Miami Beach last month is a new Folgore EV, the Maserati GranCabrio Folgore, the luxury segment’s first 100% electric convertible and part of Maserati’s fully electrified range, which includes the GranTurismo Folgore and Grecale Folgore.
The GranCabrio Folgore, presented in an exclusive Liquid Rose Gold color with sophisticated interiors, embodies innovation with its high-performance specs derived from Formula E technology.
Under the hood, a tri-motor setup produces a total of 761 horsepower and 1,350 Nm (996 lb-ft) of torque which are put to good use on all four wheels, allowing this electrifying drop-top exotic car to rocket from 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in just 2.7 seconds and sending it on the way to a top speed of 290 km/h (180 mph).
It is outfitted with a 92.5 kWh that offers up to 440 km (273 miles) range per charge. Performance aside, the Maserati GranCabrio Folgore is pretty much the Maserati you expect: it is luxe through and through.
Some of the highlights include full LED headlights, Launch Control, front double wishbone, and rear multilink suspension, Level 2 Advanced Driving Assistance Systems, and a super classy and somewhat sustainable interior featuring regenerated nylon fiber ECONYL. Also in the cabin are seats for four, a configurable 12.2” full digital cluster, heads-up display, a 12.3” Central Display powered by Android Auto OS and featuring Maserati Intelligent Assistant (MIA), Sonus faber stereo sound system, and an optional High Premium system features 16 speakers.
This latest BEV from the 110-year-old Italian marque offers three driving modes: driving modes: GT, Sport, and Corsa. For the uninitiated, the latter is the track mode. Interestingly, the iconic Maserati triple air vents will light up when charging.
The Maserati GranCabrio Folgore Electric Vehicle is available to configure now with a starting price of US$220,000. Maserati did not provide the rundown of the specs but if you are so inclined, ArenaEV has a pretty comprehensive spec sheet.
