A while ago, I came across a nifty-powered hand tool that helps tie wire on rebars. Genius, I thought, and bookmarked it for later to share with you guys. I think there’s no need for that. Turns out, I’ve been living under a rock—because that’s old tech. Today, robots do the job. Yes, actual robots. Enter the MAX Autonomous Mobile Tying Robot, fresh from MAX Corporation, which recently showed off this mechanical marvel at World of Concrete 2025.

This bot isn’t just smart—it’s got moves. Plop it onto a rebar setup, and it zips around, tying rebars with the precision of a caffeinated construction worker. It even generates its own optimal route and adjusts when obstacles get in the way. No fumbling, no missed ties, just pure, automated efficiency.
And here’s the kicker: multiple MAX robots can team up, coordinating tasks like a squad of highly disciplined, wire-wielding ants. The future of construction? It’s looking a lot like a sci-fi assembly line.
While KENROBOTECH’s Tomorobo entered the scene two years ago, it seems like MAX’s robot has an edge with lateral movement between sections. The age of autonomous tying has arrived, and human wrists everywhere can finally breathe a sigh of relief. Or will we, humans, carry our placards and protest that robots are taking over our back-breaking jobs?
