Maze Alpha Bezel-less Android Smartphone

We suspect bezel-less is going to be the next big thing in the smartphone industry. To be honest, I am surprise the bezel-less fad hasn’t catch on since two years ago when Sharp debuted the near bezel-less AQUOS Crystal. Even with several manufacturers (you know, like Nubia, Ubik and the likes) touting bezel-less as a design feature between then and now, bezel-less is not as mainstream as we have hoped. We certainly will love to see bezel-less becomes a norm and hopefully, with the introduction of the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+, it (bezel-less) will go mainstream.

Anywho, as it turns out, there’s another player flaunting bezel-less as a design feature and it is from a lesser known Chinese handset maker, Maze Mobile. Called Maze Alpha, this Android smartphone has a seriously huge screen real estate, covering much of the front. Even the top bezel is bare minimum. From the looks of it, it appears that to make the top bezel near bezel-less, the front facing camera has been moved to the bottom, alongside the home button (like Xiaomi Mi Mix and Sharp AQUOS SH-04F, for examples). I could be wrong though, since little is known about the technical aspect except for some juicy bits leaked by Evan Blass.

The leaked hard specs include a 6-inch FHD display, an octacore chip, 4 or 6GB RAM, 64 or 128GB onboard storage, and a dual-camera setup around the back. Strange that nothing is mention about the front. Perhaps, it does not have a camera at the front? If so, that seems like a risky move considering video calls and selfies are big things among smartphone users. At this point, nothing is confirmed as far as official words are concerned. That means pricing and availability, in and outside of China, are unknown. So, are you ready for a influx of bezel-less smartphones?
