Extreme Fliers, the company that brought to you the palm-size drone with gimbal is back, this time, it wants to get into the hobby of drone racing with a “competitively priced’ kit called Micro Drone Carbon Fibre Racing Kit. Obviously, it requires assembly, but what you will get is a tiny drone that touts customizability and hackability. The kit comes with multi-layer carbon fiber frame that offers this micro-size racer both strength and durability, while a new 5.8 GHz analogue camera FPV (Pro and Pro+ models) camera offers you real-time, low latency video piped straight to a FPV goggles and/or displays from a distance of over 200 meters (656 feet!).
The camera is, naturally, super light and tiny so to minimize the payload the drone already has to carry. Other features include a Micro Drone 3.0 flight controller, compatibility with standard lithium-polymer batteries and Micro Drone 3.0 3-pin batteries, a solder-free, easy-to-assemble design, and cut-outs and holes for mounting components such as camera, LED, 3D-printed body panels et cetera, to customize the drone. The Micro Drone Carbon Fibre Racing Kit will run you back at $130-210, but for now, you will need only to shell out $65-120 as part of the kit’s launch deal. You can learn more about this racing drone in the product video below.
