we know the MINI is without doubt a cute little car with performance to match but it is not always practical as far as luggage space is concerned. lucky for those who have outgrown the usual MINI, there’s the Paceman to fill the shoes. first introduced as a concept two years ago, the Paceman is now a reality and it will be making its world premiere at the 2012 Paris Motor Show. the Paceman’s stretched lines offer the practical, useful real estate while still maintaining its sporty edge with an impressive sloping roof, along with two doors and large tailgate configuration. powered by a choice of engines ranging from the entry level 112 horsepower (82 kW) unit to range-topping 184 horsepower (135 kW) unit mated to a six-speed manual gearbox, this little big car features lowered sports suspension as standard, a 330-liter cargo area – expandable up to 1,080-liter, a generous bespoke interior for the driver and up to three passengers, option for six-speed automatic gearbox, and option of channelling its engine power to all four wheels with the MINI ALL4 all-wheel-drive system. the top-of-the-range 184 hp 1.6-liter MINI S Paceman enjoys the benefit of a twin-scroll turbochargers and direct injection to achieve a peak torque of 240 Nm (177 lb-ft), enabling it to make a century sprint in just 7.5 seconds. expect the MINI Paceman to hit the showroom first quarter of 2013 (in UK) with a price tag starting from £18,970 or around US$30,790. check out a gallery of the Paceman after the break.
