Motorola is quick to follow up to their success in the tablet market with XOOM 2 and XOOM 2 Media Edition, both which are destined to hit the stores in the UK this mid-November. the duo features Android 3.2 aka Honeycomb, a dual-core 1.2 GHz processor, brilliant displays shielded by Corning Gorilla Glass, and a splashguard coating to stand to the rigor of everyday on-the-road usage. the first of the two, the XOOM 2, is equipped with a 10.1-inch widescreen HD display that is said to be brighter and more vibrant than its predecessor, and sports a redesigned chassis that is not only pleasing to the eyes but also enables ease of holding. other highlights include Business Ready features including VPN support and data encryption and MOTOPRINT for printing wirelessly from the tablet. the XOOM 2 boast more than 10-hours of video playback and despite the enhancements made, it now weighs 100 grams less than the original XOOM.

the XOOM 2 Media Edition, on the hand, features a smaller display of 8.2-inch and is optimized for entertainment on-the-go. it boast a wide view angle of 178 degree that allows the person sitting next to you to get the same brilliant view as you do. graphics department on the Media Edition has also been given a boost that promised to deliver smoother gaming. audio reproduction is enhanced by adaptive virtual surround sound with improved low-frequency sound delivery. the Media Edition is preloaded with a custom remote app, allowing it to be used as a universal remote control for your home AV equipment. both tablets are also preloaded with MotoCast, an app that enables you to access and stream your files from either your PC or Mac to the tablets. both the XOOM 2 and the XOOM 2 Media Edition will be available only as WiFi-only models and are expected to hit the stores in the UK and Ireland from mid-November but pricing remain unknown at this point in time. check out a short product intro video and an official press information after the break.

Wi-Fi variants of the Motorola XOOM 2™ and Motorola XOOM 2 Media Edition™ — boasting powerful productivity, rich entertainment and customizable experiences — are now available: the answer to consumers looking for a tablet that can keep up with their lifestyle. Both tablets will be available at Carphone Warehouse in the UK and Ireland, as well as Best Buy, Dixons, PC World and Currys in the UK.

The new Motorola XOOM 2 and Motorola XOOM 2 Media Edition both feature Android 3.2, a dual-core 1.2 GHz processor, brilliant displays with Corning® Gorilla® Glass and a splashguard coating for a go anywhere, do everything attitude.
