MSCHF (pronounced “mischief” because vowels are expensive!), the Brooklyn art collective, is no stranger to making loud statements and making fun of certain cliches, cultures, or developments. I hate to agree with them but damn, these folks sure can see what’s coming. Case in point: the robot dog with a firearm strapped to its back—which is happening whether it is experimental, or for more sinister purposes.
The collective’s latest statement is possibly a stab at censorship and what we can and cannot say in the mainstream media. Of course, I could have misinterpreted. Whatever the case, MSCHF’s latest project is called Redact-A-Chat. It is a chat platform—think ICQ—with a quirky twist. Every word can only be used once a day. Any attempt to use words that have been used will result in the words redacted.
Unless you are the one who input the text, you did be seeing a bunch of redacted words hence the namesake Redact-A-Chat. It’s kind of fun. Words that have been used will be available in a day (in 23-24 hours, I believe). A trio parody of Microsoft’s Mr. Clippy (yes, three Mr. Clippy!) will let you know the words that have been used and advise how soon you can use those words again. LOL! Hilarious! Everyone can use this quirky chat platform. However, it is not clear how long it will be live.
