In some ways, streaming platforms have killed traditional TVs. Advancements in gaming aids in the death by blurring the line between TV and gaming monitors. They are almost indistinguishable at this point, TBH. The new GIGABYTE AORUS 4K Gaming Monitors are one of the ‘culprits’ that blurs that line.
The two new 4K monitors are 32-inch AORUS FI32U and 48-inch AORUS FO48U, both featuring HDMI 2.1 support. Billed as “one of the fastest, most responsive 4K gaming monitors,” the 32-inch AORUS FI32U is aimed at PC gamers who uses top shelf graphics cards like the RTX 3080.
It is currently the only 4K gaming monitor coming onto the market with HDMI 2.1 and SuperSpeed IPS up to 144 Hz/1ms GTG.
As for console gamers, the 48-inch AORUS FO48U is for you. Armed with HDMI 2.1 bandwidth and premium OLED panel, the monitor’s eye-watering, smooth 4K/120 Hz visual, bolstered by soundbar-caliber Space Audio, will transport gamers right into the center of their favorite gaming worlds.
If you ask me, the AORUS FO48U is essentially a traditional flat screen TV replacement. I mean, unless you watch free-to-air channels (like, who does that these days???), this monitor could be useful the “TV” to get if you consume more streaming media, Internet TV and god forbids, cable TV. You see why I say it blurs the line between TVs and gaming monitors?
