However advanced the latest iPhone is, battery life is still a huge concern. That’s probably because this wonderful device has so many uses that we can’t help but pull it out and do something, every minute of our waking hours. Not exactly a good habit I did say, especially taxing for the battery and also our eyes. Anyways, that is how it is now and that’s why we have power battery to solve our battery woes, but what if, just what if, you can keep looking at it and not consume a whole lot of battery and also not torment your precious vision? Well, such is what the Oaxis InkCase i7 Plus Dual Screen For iPhone 7 Plus is all about. Adding a second screen, an e-ink display, to your device, thereby saving battery and saving your eyes while doing as many things.
The Oaxis InkCase i7 Plus Dual Screen For iPhone 7 Plus is the Singapore-based company follow up to its previous offering that, as the product name implies, cater to iPhone 7 Plus users. It boasts a large 5.2-inch Carta 1.2 e-ink display packing 213dpi at 540 x 960 resolution, letting you read on-the-go without sucking on your device’s battery life and with anti-glare properties and a 9H scratch resistance, you could be reading even under glaring sunlight and also never have to worry about the display getting scratch when you slip it inside your purse or bag. And it does so while protecting your case from knocks and bumps, and some say, even drops, many times over.
With InkCase i7, it only adds 4 mm of thickness to your device and it is now waterproof, just like your iPhone 7 Plus. This latest iteration also features customizable widget, pushes ad-free news articles for a distraction-free reading, task lists creation, real-time selfie assistance with iPhone 7 Plus’ 12MP rear-facing camera, customizable display wallpaper, the ability to track physical activities, and finally, the ability to edit photos via the InkCase iOS app and Bluetooth technology.
Other notables include an improved BubblePro Technology for military standard drop-proof protection, a built-in battery good for up to 5 days of use, in-built storage, raised lip to protect your device’s screen, Bluetooth connectivity, and a la MagSafe smart magnetic charging port. At 4.5 mm (0.18-inch) and 80g, the InkCase i7 is effectively the world’s thinnest and lightest eReader. The only difference is, it sticks to the back of your iPhone 7 Plus. If you read a lot of eBook, this accessory will save the hassle of lugging along an additional device for that purpose.
Once again, OAXIS has taken to Kickstarter to get the product off the ground. No. Wait. Actually, InkCase i7 is already in production. The company merely wants to leverage on Kickstarter to, according to the horse’s mouth, “enable early adopters to support and receive the newest case before it’s officially available for retail purchase.” Through Kickstarter, you will be able to bag a device, destined for August delivery, for as low as 123 SGD (around US$89).
In addition, backers who pick up the $50 perk for the InkCase i7 IVY for iPhone 7 will be rewarded with a $50 cash voucher valid towards the purchase of an additional InkCase i7, InkCase i7 Plus, or the next iteration of the InkCase, and backers of InkCase i7 Plus will be given the opportunity to trade-in their InkCase i7 Plus for 50 percent off the next InkCase iteration once it becomes available. The extra offer is a strategy that makes a lot of sense since the new iPhone is expected to be announced in a few months time and therefore, it will safeguard InkCase i7 users in the event they decided to switch to the new device. I say that’s a win-win for everyone.
