Last month, Italian marque Maserati revealed an unlikely collaboration with Mattel’s Barbie for an ultra-limited edition, Maserati Grecale, the Barbie x Maserati Grecale Trofeo SUV. How ultra-limited? Only two custom units are available globally. One of which is part of 2022 Neiman Marcus Fantasy Gifts.
The car is only available to the lower 48 states. So folks over in Alaska and Hawaii are pretty much out of luck. Anyhoo, for this U.S. exclusive, bespoke edition a part of the sales price will benefit the Barbie Dream Gap Project, the Barbie brand’s ongoing global initiative that partners with charities to help provide equal opportunities and remove barriers for girls.
Now back to the car… the Barbie x Maserati Grecale Trofeo SUV is an ultra-limited Fuoriserie edition which is designed by the Trident marque’s Fuoriserie customization program. And as the product name suggests, it is based on the Trofeo version of the recently announced compact SUV, Grecale, which is powered by a 530 HP V6 Nettuno engine.
The exterior of this super limited Grecale is treated to Barbie’s iconic punk hue, accented with fine acid-yellow lines, before sealing with an iridescent topcoat that reveals a rainbow effect under the sun. The Barbie logo can be found adorning the exterior as well as Neiman Marcus branding for the Neiman Marcus model.
On the inside, it has a sleek black interior with full-leather seats, the dashboard, carpets, and doors – accented with pink stitching – and branded headrests with the “B” badge.
You can hit up Neiman Marcus for information on how to purchase this awesome ride – that’s if it has already been snapped up. Oh, the asking price is a princely sum of US$330,000, as opposed to US$103,995 for the regular Trofeo model.
