Oppo Find X7 Series Smartphones

Ever wanted to own a Hasselblad but didn’t have the money to drop? Well, Hasselblad has made it more accessible with the continuing collaboration with Oppo. Speaking of which, Oppo has recently revealed its latest flagship: the Oppo Find X7 Series, featuring an imaging system co-developed with the Swedish high-end camera maker.

Like its predecessor, the new Find X7 includes two models. However, Oppo decided to drop the “Pro” in favor of “Ultra” and so, it is now Find X7 [CH] and Find X7 Ultra [CH].

Anyhoo, at a glance, you may mistake it for the Find X6 as it has inherited the duotone/duo material design with a large round camera module of the former flagship device.

But the Find X7’s camera module is now in silver and clearly showing off its four cameras – or three cameras, in the case of the Find X7.

Differentiating the two models are the physical dimensions, configurations (the Ultra has one more option), display, the main camera system, imaging features, and SoC. Between the two, there is also a slight difference in the 5G/4G/3G bands.

Fronting the device of the Ultra model is an adaptive refresh rate (1-120 Hz) 6.82” 2K (3,168 x 1,440 pixels) AMOLED LTPO display.

The non-Pro model is outfitted with a slightly smaller 6.78” OLED 2,780 x 1,264 pixels display that also boasts an adaptive refresh rate (1-120 Hz).

The Ultra is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 with an octacore processor, while the Find X7 has a Dimensity 9300 Mobile Platform with an octacore processor. Both devices benefit from LPDDR5X as well as UFS 4.0. As before, there is no expandable storage.

Strangely, there’s no mention of the self-developed MariSilicon X imaging chip. Am I missing something here? Anyhoo, speaking of imaging, the Find X7 Ultra’s main camera is a dual periscope four-main camera system (50 MP each) that boasts six focal lengths, promising to offer unparalleled freedom of composition.

The imaging is, of course, bolstered by Hasselblad. Meanwhile, Find X7 has a 50 MP wide-angle main snapper, a 50 MP super wide camera, and a 64 MP periscope telephoto camera. Both models have a 32 MP front-facing camera.
