Experience the exhilaration of sports cars in a way and places you never imagine – camping in the great outdoors – with the new roof tent from Porsche Tequipment. This practical adventure equipment transforms a regular Porsche sports car into makeshift accommodation in any wilderness of your choosing.

Porsche Tequipment Roof Tent for Porsche Cars

Featuring an exclusive hard case developed at the Weissach Development Center and co-designed by Studio F.A. Porsche in Zell am See, the Porsche Tequipment Roof Tent can be installed on the roof transport systems of the 911, Macan, Cayenne, Panamera, and Taycan – with our without roof rails.

As accommodation on your Porsche car’s roof, it offers a room with a view, with two side windows and a roof window as standard. The two-person tent can be extended, bumping up the floor surface area to 210 x 130 cm (6.9 x 4.3 feet). The tent walls of this super cool, made-for Porsche sports car roof tent are of breathable cotton blend and the zips employed are water resistant.

With the separate rain cover for entry, the tent is good for wet weather too. Integrated into the tent is a comfy, high-density polyfoam mattress with a quilting pattern. Speaking of the interior, it also boasts a highly insulating quilted lining in Light Grey, and on it, there’s a mountain silhouette. The roof tent comes supplied with an integrated telescopic ladder for ingress and egress to your cozy abode in the wild.

When opened up and extended, it measures 258 by 257 x 118 cm (8.5 x 8.4 x 3.9 feet). The hard case with a side wall that mimics the flyline of the 911 and a Porsche logo, on the other hand, measures 146 x 140 x 33 cm (4.8 x 4.6 x 1.1 feet). The entire package weighs in at around 56 kilograms (123 pounds) and it has a maximum stationary load of around 190 kilograms (419 pounds) with roof rails or about 140 kilograms (309 pounds) without roof rails.

There is a trade-off with such new freedom to sleep anywhere in your Porsche ride, though. With this mobile accommodation slapped on the roof, the top speed is limited to 130 km/h (80 mph).

The new Porsche Tequipment Roof Tent for Porsche Cars is offered in black/light grey and black/dark grey hard case, and it is available to order from Porsche sales partners for €4,980 (or around US$5,056), with delivery set for November 2022.
