LEGO Ideas The Scream by Spacemanship

If luck has it, Edvard Munch’s iconic The Scream could be joining Van Gogh’s Starry Night LEGO set. LEGO enthusiast and LEGO Ideas member Spacemanship has recently achieved 10,000 supporters for his proposed The Scream LEGO Ideas set. The project will now move from the Idea stage to the Review stage. Congrats, Spacemanship!

The world-famous painting by the Norwegian artist was painted based on his personal experience with a panic attack the artist suffered a year earlier while strolling along a path outside modern-day Oslo. The painting was a representation of the artist’s state of mind in which he thought he heard the scream.

But you certainly will not be having an anxiety attack when you eventually get to piece together this work of art, well, if luck has it for Spacemanship, that is. Spacemanship’s proposed LEGO Ideas The Scream uses 2,999 pieces to recreate the oil painting version of The Scream (there are four versions of it, btw).

Interestingly, the central figure can be detached from the frame and it can spin at the waist, has a movable mouth, and the skull can be removed to reveal a minifigure of Edvard Munch.

Anyone who loves art, appreciates LEGO, and/or has a troubled state of mind would be able to appreciate this proposed LEGO Ideas set. Now, all we have to do is to keep our fingers crossed that this made it through the review. This is not the only one The Scream set, btw; there are a couple more but this is the only proposition that goes being recreating the painting in 3D.
