Redmi Pad Pro Harry Potter Edition Android Tablet

The Harry Potter theme does not stop at the Redmi Turbo 3 Harry Potter Edition. During the event, Redmi also revealed a new Redmi tablet, the Redmi Pad Pro with Harry Potter Edition. This makes the Redmi Pad Pro Harry Potter Edition the world’s first Harry Potter tablet.

Now that I look at the new Redmi Pad Pro device, I realize that the device and the Turbo 3 are actually a good fit for this cool co-branding. Why? The dual cameras. The dual cameras of equal size make it look like the owl, a staple creature in the magical world of Harry Potter.

Anyhoo, so yeah, the Redmi Pad Pro also has a dual camera. It looks like an oversized Turbo 3. The dual cameras on the new Redmi tablet are decorated with a gold ring that makes them pop. Also on the back of the tablet is an enhanced, 3-dimensional Hogwarts crest, and below it, the iconic Harry Potter branding. At the top left-hand corner, there’s the Redmi branding.

The graphics are presented in a goldish-white colorway which contrasts perfectly against the dark blue back cover. The package also includes a stylus with a finish inspired by a wizard’s wand. Unfortunately, it does not look like a wand. It looks like a regular pen-like stylus. It would have been super cool if it was shaped like a wand. Just saying…

The device also features a moving stairs wallpaper – though it is not clear if it’s a live wallpaper. It would be cool if it is. The UI is presumably Harry Potter-themed too. TBH, I am not as excited by the device as the accessories that come with it.

It is supplied with a unique case/stand which makes the Redmi Pad Pro look like a wizard’s book. The case is presented in brown with gold prints of the classic Hogwarts school crest and a classy border. In addition, it comes with a carrying folio that pays homage to the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry letter of acceptance envelope. This oversized envelope is presented in white (obviously) and bears the school’s crest and the wax seal.

The Redmi Pad Harry Potter Edition and the associated accessories are presented in a classic blue and gold Hogwarts gift box. The Redmi Pad Harry Potter Edition is offered in 8+256 and is available to order now in China for 2,299 yuan [CH] (which works out to be around US$318).

As for the specifications, the Redmi Pad Pro Harry Potter Edition is pretty much the same as the regular Pad Pro. It is powered by a Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chip and features a brilliant adaptive 120 Hz 12.1-inch 2.5K with 600 nits of brightness. The display further boasts Redmi’s first eye-protection technology which is TÜV certified.

The device further touts a unibody alloy construction that has been put through over 30 tests, a 10,000 mAh battery that supports 33 W fast charging and reverse charging, and 5G connectivity. Strangely, Redmi did not provide a whole of details outside of the reveal event.

The Redmi Pad Pro goes on sale on April 15, at 10 AM China Time. It is offered in 6+128, 8+128, and 8+256 configurations for 1,499 yuan, 1,599 yuan, and 1,799 yuan, (around US$207, US$221, and US$249) respectively.
