You already heard that Ricoh is micro-celebrating. Why micro-celebrating? Well, because it is celebrating not the brand’s anniversary, but the anniversary of one of its most popular and iconic camera series, the Ricoh GR. This wonderful camera, synonymous with street photography, has turned 30, and the Japanese camera maker is celebrating in the most appropriate way possible: with an anniversary GR camera.

The Ricoh GR IV 30th Anniversary Edition, as it is called, takes inspiration from the original GR1 film camera introduced in October 1996. The shutter release and rear buttons receive a special color inspired by the plated finish of the GR1, while the lens barrel gains an exclusive GN-3 (30th) ring cap with a diamond-cut finish.
Ricoh says the cut surfaces catch the light when the lens is retracted but avoid reflecting onto subjects while shooting. The camera also displays a dedicated GR 30th anniversary graphic when it is switched off.
Internally, it is the regular GR IV. That means a 25.74 MP APS-C CMOS sensor, an 18.3 mm F2.8 lens equivalent to 28 mm in full-frame terms, five-axis sensor-shift stabilization, hybrid autofocus, and approximately 53 GB of internal storage alongside a microSD card slot.

The kit also includes a genuine leather finger strap with “30th ANNIVERSARY” engraved on the reverse and a steel-gray metal hot shoe cover bearing the anniversary logo on the front and “RICOH GR” on the reverse.
Rounding out the package is a set of 16 pin badges. Fourteen represent historic GR models, while the remaining two feature the GR and 30th anniversary logos. The 14 legacy badges will also be sold separately, but the two logo badges remain exclusive to the anniversary kit. Collectors have been warned.
Ricoh will produce just 6,000 kits worldwide, with availability beginning October 21, 2026. The Ricoh GR IV 30th Anniversary Edition Kit costs US$1,799.95. It turns out micro-celebrating does not mean micro-pricing. This means you gotta have some serious financial muscle to be able to join in the celebration.
