so the rumor has turned official and looking at the specs and design of the new Samsung Galaxy Tab S, we’d say that these are the tables you might want to grab if you are in the market for a visually stunning device, both inside and out. two tablets were announced: 10.5-inch and 8.4-inch model. power comes from either an Exynos 5 Octa which brings together a 1.9GHz and a 1.3GHz quad-core processor, or Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 SoC with 2.3GHz quad-core processor. we would think the latter is the likely version for stateside. both models will have 3GB RAM and a choice of 16 or 32GB capacity, plus storage expansion of up to 128GB via microSD. basically, the two models only differs in size, with the rest of the hard specs remain largely unchanged.
the processor, though powerful, isn’t the real star of the show. the real star of this duo is perhaps the eye-watering WQXGA Super AMOLED display touting 2,560 by 1,600 pixels (yes. it is in 16:10 A.R.) that is said to deliver more than 90% of Adobe RGB color coverage and an astounding 100,000:1 contrast ratio, proving you with vibrancy you craved along with deeper blacks and brighter whites. the presentation is display focus, with the device boasting technologies like Adaptive Display that will ensure optimal viewing under any lighting conditions (apparently, even under sunlight) and pre-set pro modes (AMOLED Cinema and AMOLED Photo), plus users-adjustable settings. Super AMOLED technology does without traditional backlighting and therefore sucks up less energy and allows for ridiculously thin profile of just 6.6mm. the devices are pretty lightweight too, with the 10.5 weighing in at 465g and the 8.4-inch model tips the scale at mere 294g.
aesthetically, it continues with the S5 design language and also sports slim bezel, and is given golden treatment around the edges – which is a little superfluous, if you ask me. there is a couple software enhancements (it runs on Android KitKat, btw) including Papergarden that brings digital versions of popular magazines with interactive and high-resolution contents to Galaxy Tab S, and multi-user support (up to 8 users) with fingerprint sensor, allowing individuals to log in to their personal optimized profile using the built-in fingerprint scanner. other key features include 8MP and 2MP cameras, wireless ac MIMO, WiFi Direct, Bluetooth 4.0, IrLEF, GPS and GLONASS, plus a bunch of sensors, including Fingerprint sensor, Geomagnetic Sensor and more. the Samsung GALAXY Tab S will hit the market this July for $399 and $499 for the WiFi-only models. LTE models will be available a latter date.
