when i first saw this, i pretty excited and wonder where can i grab one of these. unfortunately, this is just a concept but nevertheless, worthy of a feature. the Scroll Bookshelf, as it is called, consists of a sheet metal overlaid with a plastic sleeve and two sturdy end-rolls that act as bookends for your books. i wonder if the designers are betting on a springy sheet metal or do we have to roll them up ourselves? i thought the former would be a better option – if you can find a sheet metal that’s springy enough and of reasonable thickness. as an added bonus, the ends have two concealed chambers (or drawers, if you prefer) to hold your pens and other smaller stuff. what a wonderful concept and i seriously hope it will make it to production someday.
