Segway GT Series Performance KickScooters

Usually, makers of electric kickscooters strive to create last-mile electric transport with better range and safe. Speed is certainly not the main consideration. Not SegwayNinebot though. The maker of short-range electric transport is also gunning for speed.

Folks, this is the Segway GT Series performance kickscooter. For the first time, “0 to certain speed” is one of the highlights for an electric kickscooter. The new GT Series is engineered to deal with extreme speed, well, extreme in the kickscooter’s context.

There are two models in this new performance series aka sports kickscooter series: GT1 and GT2. Even the name sounds fast. And fast they are. The GT1 is powered by an electric motor rated at 3,000 W, paired to a 1,008 Wh battery good for 31.1 miles (50 km) per charge.

Meanwhile, the GT2 is belief or not, a 2-wheel drive, with a maximum motor power of 6,000 W (!). The GT2 is paired to a 1,512 Wh battery offering 37.3 miles (60 km) on a single charge.

With four modes, the new GT1 is capable of rocketing from naught to 30 mph in 7.5 seconds and the GT2 wipes 0-30 mph (48 km/h) in mere 3.9 seconds. They are not just quick; they are fast too with the GT1 topping out at 37.3 mph (60 km/h) and the GT2, 43.5 mph (70 km/h!). Seriously, is Segway gunning for a land speed record for a kickscooter?

For vehicles this small and this fast, special attention has been put into stability and control, such as an aircraft-grade aluminum construction with a widened footboard, front and rear hydraulic disc brakes, front double-wishbone suspension and rear trailing arm with 15-level of damping adjustment, and a chubby 11-inch pneumatic tires.
