Apparently, Sony’s first professional drone revealed at CES 2021 early this year was just a teaser. The electronics giant has just made it official, along with a price tag of US$9,000 that firmly cement it as a professional rig. Then again, if you are filthy rich, 9K is probably small change and in this case, no one is stopping you from picking it up.
Anywho, the Sony Airpeak S1 Imaging Drone is billed as the “world’s smallest” and if you don’t already know, it can be equipped with a full-size mirrorless interchangeable lens Alpha camera.
Key highlights include proprietary brushless motor, 17-inch propeller, control system and sensing technology that will allow it to fly at extremely high speeds (up to 55 mph or 90 km/h) while remaining very stable in wind conditions (up to 44.7 mph or 20 m/s).
Furthermore, the Sony Airpeak S1 Imaging Drone features an advanced remote controller that can support the production of high-quality aerial images and freely control the aircraft.
Obstacle detection, automatic flight control via sensing and increased safety via cloud management all comes as standard.
The Sony Airpeak S1 Imaging Drone has a suggested retail price of around US$9,000 it becomes available in Fall 2021. Meanwhile, you can learn more at the official product page HERE.
