Sony’s “anti-active noise cancellation” earphones, LinkBuds, is now joined by a new family member, Sony LinkBuds S. However, unlike LinkBuds, it does offer noise cancellation while touting a “Never Off” experience that lets you stay connected to the online and offline worlds.
The ultra-small and lightweight design with natural ambient sound will make you forget that they are even there in your soundholes. Its ambient sound concept lets you interact with the world around you, such as ordering a coffee, while noise-canceling technology brings you back to focus when you needed it.
It has Adaptive Sound Control, a smart function that senses your activity and adjusts the ambient sound settings for the ideal listening experience. And then there’s Auto Play that automatically plays music as soon as the headphones are put on or end a call, auto triggering music to play based on behavior, such as going on a mood-boosting walk.
Auto Plays also deliver audio notifications, reading aloud over the music without pausing the tune. Moreover, the new Sony LinkBuds S also boasts spatial sound technology for an immersive audio experience with AR games such as Niantic’s Ingress.
Finally, the LinkBuds S promised to deliver audio as the creator intended, with powerful bass and clear vocals, through a new 5 mm driver unit.
Other highlights include Sony’s Precise Voice Pickup Technology, Integrated Processor V1, High-Resolution Audio Wireless, DSEE Extreme, Speak-to-Chat function, Google Assistant and Alexa compatible, touch sensor control panel, Google Fast Pair, Swift Pair, LE Audio-ready, up to 6 hours of battery life with noise-canceling, and 14 more hours from the charging case.
The Sony LinkBuds S True Wireless Earbuds is available now to buy in a choice of Black or White at Sony.com and Amazon, as well as other authorized dealers, for US$199.99. Meanwhile, there is a third color option seen here, known as Ecru. It is exclusively available at Best Buy.
