previously only available to lucky folks in the Land of the Rising Sun, Sony Computer Entertainment’s Playstation TV is finally heading to the U.S. for $99. scheduled to hit the stores this Fall, which means it is sure to make it to many people’s holiday gifting list. the whole idea behind Playstation TV is to allow you to savor a variety of Playstation content on the TV. Playstation TV lets you download select Playstation Vita games PSP games, as well as Playstation games from PS One classic, stream select PS3 games to the device via PS Now launching later this year. if you already have a Playstation 4, the device allows you to remote play on a second TV in your home. some PS Vita games will also be playable on Playstation TV using PS Vita cards.

the PS TV is also a media center of sort, offering access to entertainment content much like Apple TV where movies, TV shows, and music are available for purchase, rent, or stream from Playstation Store. under the hood, it has a ARM Cortex-A9 quad-core processor and IMG SGX543MP4+ GPU as found on the VIta, and sports a 1GB onboard storage, along with a host of I/Os and connectivity including memory card slot, Vita card slot, USB port, HDMI output, Ethernet port, WiFi and Bluetooth 2.1 technology. naturally, you will need a DualShock controller (compatible with both DualShock 3 and 4) to go with this pocket size entertainment/gaming hardware, but there will also be a $139 bundle that includes the unit, a controller, an 8GB data card, an HDMI cable, plus a copy of The LEGO Movie Video Game to get you get started.
