Takara Tomy Transformers Dramatic Capture Series Figures

2024 marks 40 years since the introduction of Transformers which started with the Transformers toyline. Takara Tomy will be celebrating this occasion with a new series of, well, toys, of course. The new series, dubbed Dramatic Capture Series [JP], will feature popular Transformers toys presented in a premium finish.

Kicking off the Takara Tomy Transformers Dramatic Capture Series is the Nemesis Bridge which includes three iconic Decepticon characters: Megatron and his two trusted lieutenants, Shockwave and Soundwave.

All three figures are based on the latest mold in the Generation series. This means G1 fans may be disappointed because Megatron is a tank, not the Walther P38 pistol, and also no lovely purple Cybertronian handgun. Instead, Shockwave is the WFC Siege mold which is a Cybertronian spaceship.

The saving grace for G1 fans is that Soundwave is the good old portable cassette tape player. Soundwave is actually a redeco of the War Cybertron Netflix Soundwave mold but with a new premium deco that replaces gray parts with silver paints.

Like the original Netflix toy, it does come with a transformable Laserbeak that goes into his chest when in cassette tap mode.

Megatron gets the love of silver metal that offers a metallic feel. You will also get the purple Decepticon throne that is supposed to be the throne found on the bridge of the Nemesis. The throne is identical to the one that came with the Transformers Studio Series 86 Coronation Starscream.
