THIS. The Toho 30 cm Series 1975 Godzilla Figure is a reminder why I stopped collecting Godzilla figures. I don’t under why companies like Shonen Ric/X-Plus, Bandai and more, always issue small batch of the figure.
Limited copies only serve to promote scalping, as we have seen recently with the Transformers x Back to the Future crossover figure. It is stupid and frustrating for collectors. As if limiting it to Japan is not bad enough.
Anywho, this particular figure was announced on Twitter on the 28 and the pre-sale was slated to kick off on July 29, 2300 hours, Japan time, but already, it was also spoken for. OK. Now that I look at the asking price of 22,000 yen (roughly US$210), I am less frustrated. My wallet just can’t agree with it.
Anywho… the Toho 30 cm Series Godzilla Figure is based on the radioactive beast’s appearance in the 1975’s Godzilla flick, Mekagojira no Gyakushū, aka メカゴジラの逆襲 which literally translates to Mechagodzilla’s Counterattack. The movie was better known as Terror of Mechagodzilla to the rest of the world.
This is a fairly large figure, towering at nearly 12 inches (30 cm) and features a pretty impressive light up dorsal fin, powered by a power supply unit.
