What is a Transformers toy if cannot transform? I used to think that way too but looking at how all my Transformers toys hardly get transformed after a couple of times, and how non-transformable figures are more toon-accurate, I have accepted non-transforming Transformers figures. If you do too, you’d be delighted by the Transformers Generations Series Figurines by POPMART.
These are blind box figures, featuring 12 fan-favorite characters including Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Jazz, Rodimus Prime, Ironhide, Grimlock, Megatron, Starscream, Soundwave, Galvatron, Shockwave, and Sixshot. Technically, though, there are 13 characters.
Also in the lineup is a larger Devastator figure. However, the way to get this figure is by collecting the individual pieces that come with certain figures in the collection. The Devastator figure is split into 6 parts, each contained inside the Bumblebee, Ironhide, Jazz, Rodimus Prime, Galvatron, and Sixshot boxes.
The individual parts come together via magnets to become the Devastator. It is not clear how tall is the Devastator. However, we do know that each figure is about 12.5 cm (about 4.92 inches) tall.
From what I see from the initial product shots, they are indeed cartoon-accurate. But that is not the only highlight, IMHO. I think the Devastator is also a major highlight of this collection.
According to POPMART, the odds of a regular figure is 1:12 while the odds of picking up a mystery figure is 1:144. However, I believe the mystery figure is guaranteed if you were to purchase the entire set. I could be wrong. But if that is true, you’d still be missing a regular character since a set has just 12 boxes.
We heard the Transformers Generations Series Figurines by POPMART will be available to the Asia market. Though we cannot be sure. As far as China market goes, the Transformers Generations Series Figurines by POPMART is expected to be available online starting on August 24, 2023, at 22:00 hours (China time). It will be available from offline stores starting on August 25, 2023. Each box will sell for 69 yuan (about US$9.50) while the entire set will run you back at 828 yuan (around US$114).
