Traveling may not be a thing now, but there’s no harm getting yourself prepared for times when things are back to norm. Speaking of which, TUMI has taken the wrap off the brand’s new premium capsule luggage and travel collection inspired by McLaren.
The TUMI x McLaren Capsule Collection is the first collection since the announcement in 2019 that the two companies would work together. Expect to find McLaren’s signature Papaya colorway and CCX6 carbon fiber accents on these travel gear.
The collection includes Aero International Expandable 4-Wheel Carry-on, Quantum Duffel, Velocity Backpack, Torque Sling, Lumin Utility Pouch, Orbit Small Packing Cuber, Trace Expandable Organizer, and Teron Travel Kit.
There is also a super cool Nivolet Luggage Tag too, presented in a striking Papaya orange with the words ‘Test Driver’ splashed across it.
Special mention has to be given to the carry-on. It features a hybrid of materials, including a hard shell made from an extremely hard-wearing thermoplastic opposite found in race cars called Tegris, molded-fabric front panel with a supercar-influenced design, and a compression strap on the inside inspired by racing cars’ six-point racing harnesses.
For gadget-toting users, you may want to take note that the Velocity Backpack is equipped with a USB port and a padded laptop compartment.
The TUMI x McLaren Capsule Collection is available now, with prices ranging from US$130 to US$1,550. In case anyone’s interested, the dope luggage tag sells for US$85.
