When it comes to wrist watches, they are, well, just wrist watches. But not every view it so, some, for example, has frustration over the fitment of the watch on the wrist and if you are experience this frustration, you can either settle for a velcro-type strap, or you could go with the Venture Watch. What makes Venture Watch stands out from the horde of affordable timepieces by independent watchmakers is, it has ratchet belt watch strap that offers a zip tie style of securing with no less than 20 sizing options. That’s like more than double the sizing options a traditional strap has to offer. Moreover, Venture Watch’s ratchet strap has an increment of just 4 mm, as compared to the more sparsely spaced traditional strap which is 6 mm in between slots.
The ratchet mechanism on Venture Watch also boasts a fail-safe to prevent accidental release and on it, you can also find quick replace buttons that afford swapping of strap in mere seconds with the need for any tool. As far as time-telling is concerned, Venture Watch is not lacking in features which include a 8.1mm thick 316L stainless steel case in a choice of 36 or 40mm diameter, anti-scratch sapphire crystal (not some cheap mineral crystal), 5 ATM (50 meters/164 feet) water resistance, and a Swiss Ronda 763 Quartz movement powered by a 40-month battery.
You can choose to acquire the ratchet strap, which is made of top grain genuine leather, to retrofit to your existing watch, or you can buy the entire watch. As for pricing, the strap goes for 35 bucks while the complete wrist watch costs $99-109, depending on how soon you back it. And yes, it is on Kickstarter and yes, the campaign has met its set funding goal of $10K and therefore, it is a pre-order which will realized sometime in August 2017.
