The LEGO Batman Movie’s The Ultimate Batmobile Set

You probably already saw (or even bought) movie tie-in LEGO sets from The LEGO Batman Movie and you are probably wondering where the hell is the protagonist’s Ultimate Batmobile… well, the answer is, it is coming soon! So I guess it is a ‘yay!’? Maybe? Anyways, according to Market Watch, The Ultimate Batmobile Set is due to hit the shelves this June 1, priced at $129.99. As you can see in the images, the set features the caped crime fighter’s automobile that looks more like a mad scientist’s contraption – complete with oddly colored yellow-tinted cockpit canopies.

But I guess that mad scientist look is attributed by the fact that this batmobile is actually four different vehicles: the Batmobile, Batwing, Bat-Tank and Batcycle. Clearly, it has bit of a Frankenstein-look to it, with a touch of Bat. Anyways, along with the Bat’s ride, the set also comes with rotating Bat-Signal with a LEGO light brick to simulate the projection of the Bat-Signal (though, at this point, we are not sure how you are going to hold it up in midair).

The minifigs: Wicked Witch of the West, Flying Monkeys, Robin, The Bat, Batgirl, Kato.. no I mean Alfred Pennyworth in Batsuit, and Polka-Dot Man. Wait, Polka who???

As for the requisite minifigs, there are eight altogether, including Bat, Robin, Batgirl, Polka-Dot Man on a flying disc, the Wicked Witch of the West, a pair of Flying Monkeys, and Alfred Pennyworth in Batsuit who look suspiciously like Kato but with cape, just saying… The vehicle itself is of quite a substantial size, measuring 14 inches long, 6 inches wide and 4 inches tall. At this point, I am going to ask: “are you excited?” Wait. Don’t answer, I will tell you how I feel instead.

Fact: I do look forward to catching the movie and as far as other sets the lego batman movie setswe have seen so far, I am kind of thrilled, but honestly, I am not too sure about this Ultimate Batmobile. I don’t know why. I can’t put a finger on why it is not as appealing. Perhaps it has too much red? Or maybe it was the yellow-tinted canopies? Or maybe, it was the light grey bits. I know it is an animation, but those colors kind of ruin the stealthy look. Maybe that’s just me.
