Swiping is kind of the thing for modern people. We swipe everyday when using smartphones, tablets and now, even laptops and in some cases, desktops too (all-in-one, mostly). And guess what? The now-accustomed swiping ritual has arrived to wallet and the most intriguing part about it is, this wallet, called Vessel, isn’t even a high-tech gadget. It has no display, much less any form of electronics; but thanks to a seemingly simple and yet ingenious design, Vessel lets you deal with your cards as if they are virtual cards loaded into a smartphone.

Getting to your card of choice requires a mere act of swiping through them. You ‘scroll’ through the cards by swiping downwards and when you get to the one you need, simply swipe up and pick up that selected card. Easy peasy and if we may add, it feels darn sophisticated too. Don’t believe? Just take a look of it in action in the below animated GIF. Anyways, aside from being a super cool cardholder, Vessel, as the product name hints, is not just about cards.

Vessel is also comes with a removable clip that, when affixed, serves as a money clip for bills and there’s a discreet, slide-out protective compartment that is large enough for a spare key or two, some loose change, a USB flash drive or memory card, pills, or if you ignore all of the aforementioned, a real estate good for a birth control rubber! Simply. Brilliant. Well, I mean, the entire thing is brilliant; not just because it have room for a rubber. I swear. Vessel is crafted from aerospace-grade aluminum which gives it a touch class, but really, it is how a card is retrieved that makes this minimal wallet a gold and also, the secret rubber compartment. Lets not forget that.

Vessel is as minimal as a wallet possibility could get without sacrificing functionality, but beware that it isn’t as thin as one may have imagined (after all, it can store up to six cards and it has that secret wonder compartment). The thickness comes in at a fixed 0.60” or about 15.2 mm – that’s a little more than two iPhone 7 stacked together. If you are up for one, you can pre-order Vessel on Kickstarter for $65 a pop. The campaign is funded, which means your pledge is a pre-order which will realized sometime in April 2017.
