I can’t remember at which point in modern PC times that we started having keycaps that are less than practical to use. I am not talking about resin keycaps that in regular keycap form; we are talking about eye-catching keycaps that tower over the rest.
Yes. Towers. Because that’s exactly what the World of Warcraft Illidan Design Resin Backlit Keycap is. No measurement was offered, but from the looks of it, it is easily at least 4 times the height of a regular keycap. 4x!
However, height isn’t quite the issue here, though. The issue is, well, it’s the freaking Illidan Stormrage’s bust! This means the presence of the ridiculously large horns. And may we remind you that this is a keycap.
This keycap will dwarf any keycaps and takes impractical keycap to the next level. It totally makes the Custom Food Keycaps and even the very tiny Thor Mjolnir keycap look super tame.
Anyhoo, practical it may not be, but you can deny that it is as majestic as a keycap can get. Most importantly, it is totally backlit keyboard-friendly. This means, Illidan will be lit too. From the images we have seen, a lit Illidan is quite a sight to behold.
The World of Warcraft Illidan Design Resin Backlit Keycap will work with Cherry Mx switch mechanical keyboard and cost around 259 yuan (approximately US$40) on Taobao.com.
It can also be found on Aliexpress and as a pre-sale on Amazon. But I suggest not to look at those listings because, the pricing is just out of this world. Like, who would pay 80 bucks for a keycap???
