Xiaomi Mi Smart Projector 2 Pro

Anyone who is in the market for a projector may want to check out Xiaomi’s offering, the Mi Smart Projector 2 Pro, a follow up to its Mi Smart Compact Projector aka Mijia Projector. For those who are not aware, Xiaomi is not new to projectors.

Xiaomi has introduced a slew of projectors in China over the years. It is merely stepping up its game in the global arena with the new Mi Smart Projector 2 Pro.

That said, the Mi Smart Projector 2 Pro is essentially the Mijia Projector 2 Pro introduced in China last year. However, this being the global version, it benefits from Google Assistant and Chromecast, as well as access to Netflix.

With Google Assistant, users will be able to control other connected smart home devices via the projector using just voice commands.

The Mi Smart Projector 2 Pro is, of course, an Android TV, or should I say, Android Projector?

Nothing mind-blowing specs-wise, though. Max res comes in at 1,920 by 1,080 with a projection screen size of between 60- and 120 inches, with peak brightness topping out at 1300 ANSI lumens.

Other key details include omnidirectional keystone correction, HDR10 support, built-in 10W speaker with DTS-HD and Dolby Audio support, and of course, Bluetooth connectivity.

Like the Mijia Projector, the latter allows the projector to serve as a standalone Bluetooth speaker.

The Mi Smart Projector 2 Pro is expected to go on sale in Europe for €999 (about US$1,185). However, last checked, it is not listed online. Perhaps, they are in Mi Stores? Not sure.

Anywho, there is an Early Bird pricing of 888 euro (around US$1,067). Though it is not clear if that price still stands at this point.
